Volunteer’s Needed –  Bring Al-Anon Meetings to Perryville Women’s Prison

Al-Anon members located in the Phoenix area are needed to help bring Al-Anon meetings to the inmate population at Perryville Women’s Prison.  The prison is located in the West Valley near I-10 and the 303.  The commitment is for one evening a month, meeting time is expected to be Friday nights at 6:30pm.  To cover all Friday night meetings in a month,  a minimum of 8 volunteers are needed – at least two per meeting.

Volunteers will receive training on the prison environment, how to interact with inmates, prison policies, and security procedures.   Volunteer safety is a primary concern of the prison and there are many security procedures to allow 12-step and religious organizations to feel safe and safely conduct meetings at the prison.

Please join us to help bring 12-step recovery to Perryville Women’s prison.  For more information, contact prison@al-anoneastvalley.org or click here for the flyer.

Courage to Change books are given to inmates that attend at least 6 meetings. Groups are encouraged to donate Courage to Change books to EVIC to help us continue this valuable prison institutions service.  Contact prison@al-anoneastvalley.org  to arrange for book donations.  Thank you!
